It’s been a crazy couple of weeks due to an unfortunate mishap in my home… so I have not been great with social in any way.
However, I’m going to take the time to officially announce that I have a job in Rhode Island, and I will be moving and starting that job in January 2020! This job was seriously an incredible opportunity: I’ll be the writer/content specialist at Salve Regina University, and working there will give me discount on tuition for the Master’s in Holistic and Clinical Mental Health Degree I want to get there.
I can’t believe it! This job opportunity fell into my lap out of nowhere, and I’m still in shock that it all worked out.
Many of you know that I fell in LOVE with Newport, Rhode Island, and Salve Regina University in the summer of 2018 when I took the Expressive Arts Institute. I will never forget how I felt the first time I drove over the bridge into Newport, and how every time I’m back in RI I feel like I’m coming home. I’ve been dreaming about moving there ever since 2018. So finally, after two long years of waiting for the right time, I’m following my heart.
And the right time has come. This job came right when I needed it to. I’m so, so grateful for this amazing job and the ability to get a master’s degree!! My heart feels so full. My passion is to help others heal—and through yoga therapy, clinical counseling, art and sound, and other healing modalities, I want to help others walk the difficult path through grief, loss, trauma, and pain that I also walked through.
Because there IS hope. Never give up. Joy can come after all the heaviness and numbness. You are not stuck. You are not destined to feel the way you may now feel.
A few years ago, “Never Give Up” became my motto even through the worst darkness I’d ever faced. If I could’ve known all the growth and beauty that awaited me… but here I am.
I still am.
And that is truly extraordinary.
